"Sing Street" movie soundtrack

August 29, 2014

We were asked to contribute to a project around this time last year; a film soundtrack for Oscar winning director (of "Once") John Carney. We started writing with John, Graham Henderson and Eamon Griffin at The Factory in Dublin with producer Kieran Lynch. Sessions took us up to Christmas and we're delighted to say we've just completed the recording of the soundtrack at Windmill Lane Studios, Dublin. It's a musical, set in Dublin in a school called Sing Street. It's semi autobiographical based on the early years of John Carney's school years and how music got him through those challenging adolescent years. It was a story we could relate to, set in the 80's (yes we were there at one time too) and it made it easier to feel like we could contribute to it in some way. The tracks sound great and we believe that filming begins in the Summer of 2015. As Harvey Weinstein has bought the rights to the movie it's bound to be a smash...here's hoping
